Wear Rivers Trust was established a year ago from the amalgamation of The River Wear Environmental Trust and The Weardale Environmental Trust which had both been operating successfully in the Wear catchment for the past 10 years Funds are now available to appoint a fulltime project officer for an initial 30 month term to develop the work of the Trust.
Reporting to the Chair of Trustees and supported by a small steering group, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Trust’s objectives are achieved through the delivery of a range of projects in partnership with stake holders, other conservation bodies and catchment communities.
You will be a graduate (or equivalent) in a scientific or environmental discipline - with experience in environmental management – able to demonstrate:
Excellent people and communication skills
Project management success
Knowledge of river catchment related issues using an ecosystem approach
Interest in angling and water based activities
