Project Evaluation

Now the Heritage Lottery Funded, River Gaunless for People and for Wildlife Project comes to an end we are looking to carry out an evaluation to assess how well the project has achieved its objectives. To enable us to do this we are inviting  everyone who has been involved in some way or another to complete an evaluation survey via the survey monkey link below.

  • Project began in July 2017 and 'ends' March 2019
  • Aims to engage people in the Gaunless Valley
  • £66,000 funding awarded by HLF, Durham AAP and Greggs
  • Run by Gaunless Local Management Group

  • Raise awareness of the river
  • Provide people with new experiences
  • Make a difference for people and wildlife

Future Funding

  • We are working to extend and widen the project beyond the original HLF remit and need supplementary funding for:
  • Engagement with further schools
  • To extend school options i.e. soundscapes to primary schools
  • Support school travel to river sites and other events e.g. to the Darlington GRT site
  • Project counts towards match funding

Gaunless LMG

  • LMG meets quarterly and is fundamental in the delivery of the project
  • LMG members have the opportunity to develop their skills in being an active member of the group, project planning, attending events and fund raising.
