Wear Rivers Trust is a local charity which improves people’s lives through its work on the River Wear from Killhope in Weardale to where it meet’s the sea in Sunderland, and all its tributaries throughout the catchment. The Trust works to address the global challenges of biodiversity loss, climate change, water quality and environmental degradation at the local scale.

This business plan encapsulates why the Trust exists and its core purposes. It provides a baseline and structured platform from which to manage the Trust by stating our values, strategic aims and objectives, governance, staff structure and leadership, funding and finance. The plan is on a 3 year rolling timescale based on the WRT financial year, 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2026. The plan will be refreshed and financial projections updated for the following 3 years after each financial year end
