Wear Rivers Trust

Wear Catchment Partnership

Managing rivers and their surrounding landscapes requires coordinated action across sectors, places, and communities. The Wear Catchment Partnership helps create the conditions for this joined-up working at a catchment scale.

About the Partnership

The Wear Rivers Trust has hosted the Wear Catchment Partnership since its inception in 2010 as part of the then newly created Catchment Based Approach.

This holistic approach brings together a range of civil-society organisations to deliver far-reaching environmental, social, and economic benefits whilst protecting blue and green spaces for future generations.

The partnership has the power to bring together a range of sectoral interests to address land and water management at a strategic and whole-catchment scale – ultimately leading to integrated catchment management solutions for the Wear Catchment.

There are several ways to get involved. Individuals who would like to volunteer can sign up through the Wear Rivers Trust volunteer platform, where current and upcoming opportunities are shared. Opportunities may include practical conservation activities, monitoring, events, and project support.

Organisations interested in joining the Wear Catchment Partnership, collaborating on projects, or contributing expertise are encouraged to get in touch. For partnership enquiries, expressions of interest, or general questions, please contact us by email at wcp@wear-rivers-trust.org.uk
